Very smart! I like it.

One minor quibble - is it possible to disable the arrow logo for every link?

For the randomness factor - can you pull different pictures from the gallery instead of the pirates picture? (Can't claim credit for that suggestion - it's pabs')

I'd be interested what it looks like in different resolutions on different browsers, so give us a shout when you're happy with it to upload to the server as an option.

Chris

pabs likes!

Agreed on the arrows.

I'd prefer "animation in the free world" as the slogan at the top - would that be translatable too?.

About the colours, I'd like to see more vibrancy in the deep blue, and a deep blue for the background instead of black. Perhaps a light blue instead of white, and some colour rather than the greys.

About the randomness: not sure how possible that is, I think we just need to edit the front page every now and then to change the image (gallery page needs some love too, I wonder if mediawiki can pull in RSS feeds??). I planned to make the "Beautiful art inspires the community" thing spread across the page so we could have maybe 2 rows, 4 images wide. When I tried it out I didn't really like the result though and didn't have enough images for it.

I'd like to see a video/image of the week/month in the left sidebar too.

About the language links, is that part of a plugin or the skin rather than the page content? If not it would be great if that could be added as per the instructions in WikiTranslation.

Rore 05:17, 4 April 2008 (EDT): I like the idea of adding images to the banner. But without the "tv-screen" lines please ;) Also, I would love to see some "quick links" like in a "real" website and not a wiki. For example this. I took myself as an "example user" (ok, that's maybe not the best choice ;)), and the links I added in the bar are the 1st ones I always look for when I discover a new software. Hm, maybe I even forgot the "download" one.
